Chocolate Cake

I don't think there is much to talk about here... simply heaven in a bite.

INGREDIENTS

  • flour mixture

    • 2 cups white sugar

    • 1 ¾ cups maida

    • ¾ cups unsweetened cocoa powder

    • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

    • 1 ½ tsp baking soda

    • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 “eggs”

    • *SUBSTITUTE: 2 tbsp chia seed powder combined with 6 tbsp of water

    • Let this gel

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup flavorless oil

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup boiling water

DIRECTIONS

Makes two 9-in round cakes or one 8x9 inch cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F, and prep your cake pan by buttering it and coating with flour.

  2. Into a bowl, sift in the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Mix the chia seed gel, milk, oil, and vanilla extract into the flour mix and eliminate as many lumps as possible.

  4. In the boiling water well. The batter will be very runny.

  5. Bake the 9-inch circle pans for 30-35 minutes. Use the toothpick test must come out clean

    1. If using the 8x9inch pans, for 35-40 minutes.

  6. Cool the cake in the pan for 10-20 min, and move to a wire rack to cool completely.

  7. Icing is entirely optional, pairs great with my cream cheese frosting
