Mangalore Buns
Have you tried Mangalore buns yet? They're so yummy! They're made with mashed bananas, flour, sugar, and a little bit of ground cumin for extra flavor. These sweet, fried banana buns are a specialty dish from the Mangalore region. You've got to give them a try!

makes about 14 buns
INGREDIENTS
2 ripe bananas
2 tbsp sugar (less per preference)
¼ cup sour cream
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
DIRECTIONS
It is important to note—do not use a blender. Stand mixer? Sure. But do not blend the bananas, please.
Mash the two bananas and the salt well in a large mixing bowl.
Mix in the sugar until the mixture is smooth.
Stir in the sour cream, cumin seeds, and baking soda. Stir in well.
Add in the all-purpose flour, and knead til you have a smooth dough.
Grease the dough and cover the bowl. Let this rest in a warm place for 8 hours*.
Heat oil to fry.
Break the dough into small balls and roll out to a ⅛in thickness- dusting liberally with all-purpose flour.
Fry the buns till they poof and turn a deep golden brown on both sides.
