  1. In a small pot over low heat, melt your butter and bring it to a simmer.

  2. Skim off the foam that rises to the top, and continue cooking the ghee until it is translucent and dark brown, almost black.

  3. Take it off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Strain it into a glass storage container.
